At the Random Store, you'll be amused, bemused, confounded, bedazzled, and perhaps amazed by the vast and seemingly unconnected variety of items for sale. But they are indeed all connected, by the high quality and the
some stuff is less, some more.) Smelling salts are kept on hand for those who are truly shocked by low prices, and softer items are kept near the door to catch fainting folks. |
The Random Store began in the middle 1980s as an antique and used furniture store. After briefly morphing into a few other identities, it found its destiny in selling an ad hoc selection of really

fine hand-painted Italian dishes, art molding, sofas, police holsters, and jewelry beads. But by the time you read this, who knows? We're thinking about setting up a webcam so you can see exactly what we have at any given time, but we currently only have square and triangular tuits; we haven't yet gotten a round tuit. |

The Random Store is at 1207 State Street in Santa Barbara, California. It's easy to find: State Street is the main street in town, and the store is 12 blocks up from the beach. We're open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day (well, maybe we get there a little later on some Sundays).

So come and see us when you're in town. Santa Barbara is only 85 miles north of Los Angeles. It has wonderful architecture, a historic Spanish Mission still active (since the 1700s) as a Catholic church, a perfect climate, and some dandy restaurants. It's a great place to visit... and so is the Random Store. |
